The Babes of B2-7-1!! :-)

To outsiders, B2-7-1 may be just another household in the Vista Komanwel B condos but nothing can be further away from the truth! In this apartment resides one of the most unique mixes of individuals. If variety is the spice of life then it’s guaranteed that this is the spiciest household ever!
The three Sri Lankans, namely Hiruni (the kid), Mufeedha (the mom) and I (the hyper-organized kid), along with the two Mauritian sisters, Prishila (the tom-boy big sister) and Sharuna (the pretty, silent one) are the full-time inhabitants of this apartment. Our pseudo counterparts include Nisha and Shankari, who seem to feel more at home in B2-7-1 than any where else in Vista. Since this is an open house to all M1/05 students, we do get occasional visits from people like Geeshath, Inthisham, Mubeen & Rahul (for the food!), Diana (for a place to change before Futsal), Ayushna & Vimithra (for afternoon naps between PBLs and Lectures), Karishma (only if worse come to worse; she’d normally avoid a visit if its even remotely possible *sob*), Sue Ling, Dan & Jonitha (for the great company on offer!).

The Babes revealed.. (in alphabetical order!) :-
Hiruni – This gorgeous, brown-eyed, curly-haired chick is the little kid of the house next to Sharuna (contrary to the fact that she’s among the oldest of the housemates!). Whenever some comic relief is required, all anyone has to do is watch Hiruni watching Friends. Its even funnier than watching a Russel Peters stand-up comedy! Her laughter fills this household and lightens the whole atmosphere. She’s one of the sweetest, loving and most appreciative people I’ve ever met. She’s intelligent and caring though forgetful at times. She's under the impression that she's fat and that she has broad shoulders which she does, of course, compared to cachectic person! No one hates her curly locks more than she does. She was quite unaware till recently about how attractive it is to the opposite sex (now that she has found out i think she wishes that she didnt know!). Her low self-esteem irritates me at times and I’ve taken it upon myself to drill some semblance self-confidence into her. My only hope is that she’d stop giving people the impression that she’s a helpless little girl (of course she doesn’t do this on purpose). She can do without all these pseudo-guardians that she seems to attract. Her Friends addiction is scary. We are terrified to even ask her to stop watching it for fear of withdrawal symptoms but we know we'll need to de-tox her soon. I'm convinced that the only way to do this is to get her hooked on something like "Grey's Anatomy" even though substitution of one for the another is not the way anyone should get over an adiction.. LOL:-)
Mufeedha – Voted as the “Mom of the year” by her housemates:-) This girl is the only person who feels totally at home in the kitchen where she makes some amazing dishes. She doesn’t like anyone messing with her while she cooks, a quality none of us mind since we get to taste her cooking without feeling guilty that we didn’t help her out (Yum!! Lucky us!). She is the by far the best medical-student-cum-chefs that I’ve ever met. She’s out-going, willing to try anything once and a music lover at its best. According to Prish she’s crazy! Its quite amusing to watch her bobbing her head while listening to music; another source of entertainment for the house! She has the weirdest sleeping habits of all. Just touching a lecture note is a greater-than-threshold stimulus to trigger her neurones into activating her sleep impulse. She and her Acer Ferrari are the most inseparable couple known to man; like conjoined twins! If married couples have that sort of bond, the word divorce wouldn’t exist in the English Language. Any man who’s interested in asking her out will have to compete with the “Red baby” for Mufee’s attention. For anyone out there who’s interested, take my word for it, this ain’t an easy task!
Prishila – My greatest fan and no doubt the big sister of the house although she acts like a stubborn brat/tom boy most of the time. To most people she’s this little kid but to anyone who believes that - You are in for a surprise!!:-). She's one person who wears her “just woke up” look throughout the day. Comments like "I’m sleepy", "I'm bored", "I’m tired" & "I’m lazy" are heard daily. Coffee makes her hyper and she has difficulty understanding why the Lankans seem to be addicted to pepper. According to Mufee, Prish is hot-tempered but I don’t agree with that. Maybe it’s because I associate hot-tempered with violent outbursts and Prish is not the type who’ll raise her voice (lol.. I have trouble hearing her when she’s talking at her maximum volume). She’s an awesome Futsal player. Trust me on this; I have dodged many a kick from her and said a prayer each time. If I manage to stop a kick from her, it’ll definitely be by accident (the only other person who makes me shiver in my shoes this way is Diana). Being goalie with someone like her as striker is any goalie’s worst nightmare. I thank my lucky stars that she’s on my team but during practices,..... Ouch:-(!! She’s an awesome team player. Her favorite saying “I’m tired” doesn’t apply when she’s on the Futsal court. On the court she’s this bubbly, dynamic player who scares people like Joanna and Hiruni into submission. The cheeky girl!! She's very playful and extremely naughty;-). I'd like to see what kind of guy she'll end up with. She's unaware of the fact that i'm trying to find out how many weird pics of her i'll have to take before she demonstrates to me exactly how much damage those fore-arms of hers can cause. My other challenge is to get this girl to stop tying her hair. She is oblivious to the fact that she looks beautiful with her hair down. She has this amazing ability to change her facial expressions in a split second. One minute she's laughing her head off, the next minute she's giving you this "why are you laughing,huh?" look. Trust me on this, she's one of the most amusing people you'll ever find!
Sharuna – The quiet little angel of the house! Its hard to say if she’s at home unless you actually peep into her room and see her there. She seems to relish the fact that she’s taller than her elder sister, a fact Prish chooses to ignore. She’s so prim and proper, the ultimate housewife in my opinion. To the guy who gets her – “Man, you are one lucky guy”
Imeshi – Hmmm… I think I’ll leave it to my housemates to comment on what they think of me. All I can say is that I’m nothing like them. Weird is the word for me; but then again all of us are weird!. So guys, comments please! This entry is not complete without them.

Thanks to Jaring, we seem to be able to keep in touch even through the vast distance across the opposite ends of the hall *rolls eyes*. Nudging each other, sending each other laughs (and other annoying winks) and exchanging funny emoticons are our favorite pastimes. Its fun to chat with each other while looking at each other’s faces but I don’t think that it should be a habit; We might eventually lose our ability to speak!
To all the gorgeous babes of B2-7-1, I just want to say that I love you guys and that I couldn’t have asked for better housemates! I will miss you guys like hell when we leave IMU but till then, lets enjoy the next year and a half that we have together.
Sisters, you guys rock!!!
